Russell Baldwin

Russell joined Shirlaws in 2009. He is passionate about growing businesses, making profits and leading a balanced, sustainable life.

His move to Shirlaws follows 30 years in business and brand development, specialising in fast growth, software and technology companies.

Russell has been the sales and marketing director of IT companies with clients including most of the Australian free to air and global pay TV networks,  leading advertising agencies, radio stations and newspapers. In the internet era, he has worked with many startups and digitally focused businesses, which in turn has resulted in significant involvement in banking & finance, tourism, agribusiness and sustainability.

As a business owner he led a small Sydney based software company with annual sales of $200K, to a global presence, achieving turnover exceeding $12 million, exiting via a trade sale.

Russell has practical, on the ground experience of expanding Australian businesses into North America, UK, Europe and Asia.

In addition to the good times, he has worked through two recessions and two IT/dotcom booms and busts and is familiar with the challenges they bring.

Russell is married with one son. He has a farm in Berry which provides solitude, clean air and a connection with nature, where he breeds mini Galloway cattle. He is a keen cyclist and runner.
